We take great pleasure in acquainting you with the scope and the activities of Gowda Saraswath Sevak Samaj, Bangalore. The Samaj was established in year 1978, and has completed 25 years since then, under the guidance's and blessings of H.H Srimad Sudheendra Thirtha Swamiji of Sri Kashi Math, H.H Srimad Vidyadhiraj Vadeyar of Parthgali Gokarna Math and Sri Sri Srimad Satchidananda Saraswathi Swamiji of Sri Kaivalya Math, Goa. The Samaj has been rendering social and economic services, to the G.S.B Community.

The Samaj which started with a membership of 75 in 1978 has now grown to 1600. It is our earnest desire to increase the membership, further covering our entire community in Bangalore and other places in India and abroad.

The Gowda Saraswath Sevak Samaj works for achieving the social and economic objectives of our community.A few of the activities are mentioned below.

G.S.S Credit Co-Op Society, was started in the year 1977. This has a membership of 1560, by collecting contributions of value Rs.1000/- Each . The society grants loans to the needy Samaj members for different needs like house construction, medical expenses, educational loans etc at low rates of interest. The interest is kept low not too burden the loner in repaying the loan.

Another major step taken by the Samaj is in acquiring an ambulance for timely transporting emergency patients to hospitals and nursing homes. The ambulance is fitted with oxygen supply equipment and other first aid items. The ambulance is also being used for crematorium Services, the charges are just nominal so that even those who can not pay more are able to make use of it.

In observation of religious values, the Samaj sponsors and organises the Sri "RAMANAVI" function in April and the Samoohika Sri Satyanarayana Pooja in December month at Sri Kashi Math Samsthan Malleshwarm, for making the Samaj members to get together and participate in the Samaj activities.There are many more social functions/activities the Samaj proposes to promote in this year and in future. To name a few,

(i) The Samaj Day - A collective meeting of Samaj Bandhavas organizing social programs, games, dramas, musical troupe etc.
(ii) Book Bank to benefit the poor students and distribute school books to selected needy students.
(iii) Financial Assistance to the students and Carrier Guidance for getting jobs.
(iv) Commence Hostel Facilities to the poor rural girl students.

In order to develop a good financial base for the society, a scheme has been worked out: To begin with, to increase the membership by enrolling new members.
1.Benefiting patron's by paying Rs. 5000.
2.Patron's by paying Rs.2500
3.Life Member by paying Rs. 500

All these ambitious programs proposed above can be realized, only if our financial position is improved and this is possible only if people like you, happily extend your generous hand. We therefore earnestly appeal to you to come forward to participate in this noble service to the society for which Samaj and its member's will remain grateful.
